Installation of PTFE Piston Rod Seals
Compared to other types of seals, PTFE seals require more careful handling during installation. It is essential to remove any burrs and/or sharp edges from the groove. PTFE rod seals are typically assembled in the following sequence:
1.Install the O-Ring into the groove.
2.Twist the PTFE ring (as shown in Figure 21) without causing any curling of the split ends.
3.Insert the ring into the groove and allow it to return to its original shape.
4.Align the ring using a plastic tapered tool.
